The requirements

The arrival of obligatory electronic billing has meant a 360° adjustment to current legislation, even for SumUp.

What’s more, to avoid problems relating to non-compliance or even financial sanctions, SumUp has complemented the existing flow of electronic billing for Italian customers by integrating an efficient and compliant remote signature solution.

The solution

The solution implemented and integrated by Aruba Enterprise consists of an Automatic Signature service, a qualified remote signature solution as a service – based on the Aruba cloud – that lets you automatically sign documents in bulk – in this case bills – thanks to delegation, without the need for timely, ongoing monitoring by the signatory, in other words, without having to enter signature or OTP credentials for every transaction. The service is used in processes requiring a large number of signatures per second.

In addition to efficiency and speed for the customer, the scalability of the solution means that the need for automatic signatures can be managed on a huge scale, safe in the knowledge that all requirements are being fulfilled in terms of integrity, non-repudiation and legal validity, complying fully with national and European legislation.

Future developments

Given the smooth and successful collaboration between the two companies, SumUp is already planning to introduce more innovation to its existing solution in order to continue improving efficiency, simplicity and security. This could include custom solutions for communication with local authorities, or tailored platforms for specific countries.
