The company

Founded in Cagliari in 2025, Xference is an Italian Inference Provider offering private, scalable generative AI infrastructures. By deploying open-source models attested in private environments and connected to customers through secure links, Xference ensures full digital sovereignty: data remains strictly within the customer’s perimeter, and the company does not act as a data processor.

Its no-code solution aims to democratise AI by making it accessible as a service even to professionals and SMEs without specific technical skills, integrating vertical and proprietary knowledge bases through plug-and-play APIs while optimising costs and energy consumption.

The requirements

Xference’s mission is to provide the market with a private AI inference infrastructure that is secure, scalable, high-performance and energy-efficient—capable of harnessing the power of generative AI while guaranteeing the highest standards of privacy and data control.

To focus as much as possible on developing its core business and establishing itself as a leading Inference Provider, it was essential to find a specialised partner able to offer data centers with strong high-density power capabilities, linear scalability, and a comprehensive portfolio of support services.

The solution

Aruba implemented for Xference a combined colocation and Hardware-as-a-Service (HaaS) solution that removes structural constraints to growth. By delegating to Aruba the procurement and installation of machines configured to its specifications—as well as the management of networking and firewalls—the startup can concentrate on its core business while avoiding capital expenditure in favour of more flexible operational costs.

The solution promotes digital sovereignty, understood as true autonomy and full confidentiality of data, within a scalable and high-performance environment architected around Aruba’s security standards. After the initial beta phase, Xference plans a controlled rollout and the development of an edge infrastructure to bring compute nodes closer to end users, also offering exclusive housing options for enterprise customers with the strictest data-control requirements.

"Aruba has proven to be an ideal partner for a startup competing in a sector that moves at a frantic pace. The responsiveness shown both in the preliminary phases and throughout the project, the ability to source custom machines through a Hardware-as-a-Service model, and the guarantees it provides in terms of performance, security and room for growth were decisive in our choice—and will be equally decisive for our future development." Andrea Pili, Founder and CEO, Xference
